Collection: PDUs & Power

Power Is the One Thing You Can't Afford to Get Wrong

Every other infrastructure failure has a recovery path. A failed drive can be rebuilt from redundancy. A failed NIC can be replaced. A failed switch can be bypassed. But a power event — an overloaded circuit, an unmonitored PDU that trips at 3am, a power distribution design that can't support the load of a fully populated GPU rack — takes down everything simultaneously, with no warning and no graceful degradation. In an AI training environment where a single job can run for days or weeks, an unplanned power interruption doesn't just cause downtime. It destroys work.

This is why power distribution deserves the same engineering rigor as compute, networking, and storage. DVUN's PDUs & Power collection is built for teams who understand this. We stock intelligent rack PDUs with per-outlet power monitoring, remote switching, and high-amperage configurations designed for the real power demands of GPU-dense AI deployments — not the 5kW per rack assumptions that most enterprise PDUs are designed around.

What Separates an Intelligent PDU from a Power Strip

  • Per-Outlet Power Monitoring: Real-time current, voltage, and power factor measurement at every outlet. Know exactly how much power each server is drawing, identify imbalanced loads before they become problems, and get alerts when consumption approaches circuit limits.
  • Remote Outlet Switching: Power cycle individual servers remotely without physical access to the rack. Critical for managing hung systems in remote or co-location environments where physical access is expensive or slow.
  • High-Amperage Configurations: 32A, 48A, and 60A per-phase PDUs for racks with multiple high-power GPU servers. Standard 16A PDUs are simply insufficient for modern AI rack densities.
  • 3-Phase Power Distribution: Balanced 3-phase configurations that distribute load evenly across phases and maximize the usable power capacity of your facility's electrical infrastructure.
  • Environmental Monitoring: Integrated temperature and humidity sensors on select models for rack-level environmental visibility without additional sensor hardware.
  • Network Management: SNMP, Modbus, and REST API management interfaces for integration with your existing data center infrastructure management (DCIM) platform.

Power Planning for AI Rack Deployments

A fully populated 10x GPU server rack with networking and storage can draw 80–150kW of power. Planning your PDU configuration starts with your rack's total power budget, then works backward to determine the number of PDUs, the amperage per PDU, and the circuit configuration required to deliver that power safely with adequate headroom. DVUN's team can help you work through this calculation before you order — preventing the costly mistake of discovering your power infrastructure is undersized after the hardware is installed.
